Rapunzel Syndrome: An Uncommon Cause of Gastric Perforation

In the case of trichobezoar, it is an accumulation of ingested hair fold. Rapunzel syndrome is a very rare variant where the trichobezoar developed in the stomach, extends the intestine. Reported for the first time in 1968 and since then, less than 70 cases are reported worldwide.
We report a case of Rapunzel syndrome complicated by a gastric perforation within a 16-year-old patient presented for acute peritonitis. The trichobezoar was discovered operatively and the patient was treated successfully.
